• The Reality: Downtown San Jose isn't exactly known for its bike-friendliness. Traffic can be a pain, and some of the streets aren't ideal for cycling. If you're not comfortable riding in traffic, stick to the Guadalupe River Trail. Also, be aware of homeless encampments along the trail in some areas.
